We are looking forward to getting to know our students and their families.

Water care

Our inquiry topic for Term One was 'The Water Cycle'.

We were lucky enough to have an expert from Water Care come in and teach us about water use, waste water, the treatment process of drinking water, water filtration and fresh water Invertebrates.

We also did some experiments and had a trip to the creek to test water.

E.O.T.C

Year 5 students participated in Education Outside The Classroom (E.O.T.C) for week 7.

We had a great, busy week where the children participated in a range of activities.

These included; Rock Climbing, Orienteering, Archery, Cooking, First Aid, Biking, Shelter Building, Stretcher Building. We also had a school trip to Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve!

Music

Y5 students have one music session a week with our school music teacher, Ms Esterman. They have started learning 'Dance Monkey' on a variety of instruments including, keyboard, glockenspiel, and the ukulele. Here are some photos of the musicians in Y5.

Biking

All Year 5 students have had the opportunity to take part in the Puketāpapa Cycling Haven Initiative. They have learned about bike safety and been able to ride bikes. It had been great to see the children supporting and encouraging one another!
