Starting School for 5 Year Olds
Making the transition to primary school is an exciting step in a child's life. We aim to make the process as smooth as possible for both families and children.
We offer the following in the lead up to your child starting school.
New Entrant Parent Morning: On the final Thursday of each term, all 5 year olds due to start school in the coming term, are invited to a New Entrant Parent Morning (9.00-10.30am). This is a chance for both you and your child, to meet key staff members, the class teacher, as well as other children and families who will also be starting school. During these mornings the children will participate in a short teaching session, have a chance to explore the classroom and be given a tour of the school. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
Class Visits:
We recommend your child comes for 1-2 class visits in the week/s leading up to when they start school. These are held on Thursday mornings 9-10am. You are required to stay with your child during that hour. This gives your child the chance to get used to the classroom environment and to engage in the programme with their peers. These visits can be booked in at the Office by Mrs Lal.
Please support your child to transition well into school, by seeing the office staff for further information and to make arrangements for a class visit. Thank you.
