AKL Interschool AdaptedSports 2017

Invitation to 2017 Auckland Interschool AdaptedSports Day

Greetings from Mt Roskill Primary and Mt Roskill Intermediate Schools.
Planning for our 2017 Auckland Interschool AdaptedSports Day has begun (formerly known as Parasports Day).
This annual event is for Primary and Intermediate-age students with special needs.
You may have students in either mainstream or exclusive settings who would be interested in attending.
If the child requires one-to-one supervision, you must organise for either a teacher aide or parent to accompany him / her.

Venue: Mt Roskill Primary School, Frost Road, Mt Roskill
Date: Friday 24th March 2017 from 9.45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Saving Day is 2 weeks later , Friday 7th April).

Registration:
Please fill in one of the forms attached (one is for individual entries, the other is for groups), and then e-mail to the appropriate Registrar below (Primary / Intermediate) as soon as possible before the Registration Cut-off Date - Friday 10th March. (Final organisation starts the following Monday)

Intermediate School Registrar:

E-mail: mgaiqui@mri.school.nz

Please do not send registrations to the main school office as late entries in particular may not get to the organisers in time.
Ring one of the registrars if you need clarification.

The permission forms are for you to use as a template – we do not need a copy.

Late Entries: We would rather not turn children away, but we really have to draw the line at large numbers of late entries (1 or 2 competitors we can usually fit in). Please be aware that each team is limited to 9 competitors, and as soon as the registration cut-off date has passed, it cannot be guaranteed that a competitor will be placed in the desired team. (Our organisers would have to place him/her in a team that has a space – e.g. Walking Frame competitor may have to put in an Ambulant team – or vise versa).

‘Not to be Filmed / Photographed’ competitors: Yellow stickers are available at the Information Table on the day – they alert the photographer to keep this child out of the picture.
Sausage Sizzle: Remember to bring some coins. You are welcome to stay for a picnic after the event.

Donations:
  • They are not a condition of entry, but are welcome, as Mt Roskill Primary School covers a lot of the costs, which come to approximately $7.50 per competitor.
  •  Donations can be posted (to Mt Roskill Primary School, Frost Road, Mt Roskill 1041), or made on the day (at the Information Table).
  • Please make cheques out to: ‘Mt Roskill Primary School – Akl Interschool AdaptedSports,’ or direct credit: 12-3033-0356066-000 (in ‘Details’ type in name + Akl Interschool AdaptedSports).
  • We are extremely grateful to the schools who kindly donated last year: Mt Richmond School, Lincoln Heights School, Papatoetoe South School, Riverhead School, Puhinui School, Royal Oak Primary, Sunnydene—May Rd, and Wairau Valley Special School. (Another school gave a large donation but wasn’t identifiable, so apologies if we haven’t named your school).
A great day is planned for all.
